Inside, the party is relieved to find a scientist self-barricaded inside a room with food and water. They soon discover that the blockade had protected a large medical research complex, the same one featured in the first scene of the film where the virus was developed. Instead, Jim, Selena and Hannah are somehow able to restrain the infected Frank, hoping they will find a cure for the virus nearby as suggested in the radio broadcast.

The "Radical Alternative Ending", rather than a bare ending, is a radically different development of the movie from the midpoint onwards it was not filmed and is presented on the DVD as a series of illustrated storyboards with voiceovers by Boyle and Garland. is that Danny boyle had a different story in mind once they reached the motorway barricade, which is where i started to go off the movie.

Interestingly, So i have just discovered. My feeling is that it started to get claustrophobic once the action turned to inside the mansion as opposed to the wide open vistas of desolated England we were getting used to seeing. I loved it all until we are introduced to the rogue Soldiers. So effective!Īnd that's just some of the absurdly stupid plot points. The movie displays the worst possible zombie quarantine and outbreak prevention I couldn't even imagine up to that point.Īpparently, when you realize there is a zombie running around (who by the way kills heavily armed guards with ease it appears) and as a counter measurement you decide to put all people in one giant floor, turn of electricity and close some, but not all doors (zombie gotta come in somehow, right!?!) then you're the stupidest person alive.īut it gets even better, when that obviously fails they decide to then use snipers to make out and shoot at zombies in a huge, scared, running crowd. That says I have no words for how bad 28 Weeks Later is. I enjoyed the characters, scenery and plot quite a lot. I especially much like how these zombies aren't actually immortal and die without food (even if it takes a long time). Its not a bad action movie but its completely different in terms of tone and atmosphere.Ģ8 Days Later is pretty much the only zombie(-like) movie I actually enjoyed. There are some beautiful shots of a lifeless London or them just appreaciating what they have and trying to make the best out of a bad situation.Ģ8 Weeks Later is an over the top action movie with a ridiculous scenario that is all about racking up the headshots, its filled with cliches and there are even some scenes that borders on zombie parody (That guy from LOST using his helicopter rotor blades to shred some zombie meat and the final scene showing the infected running towards the Eiffel Tower). The evil military that fire on civilians and decides to bomb the city because they cant contain the virus, the soldier that defies orders because its wrong, the scientist who tries to find a cure oh and they turn the dad into some sort of final zombie boss because he stalks his kids throughout the movie which goes against what the rage virus does to you.Ģ8 Days Later is all about the characters and how they bond as a family throughout their journey to the safe zone. The dad somehow sneaks in to the room where his wife is held because the military doesnt give a shit about security and surveillance and after that hell breaks loose. The main characters are his stupid kids who leaves the safe zone the moment they arrive, they find their infected mother (who somehow managed to escape barely injured) and later shun their father when they find out the truth. The movie is not about him though in fact the movie portrays him as a coward and we are supposed to hate him because he did the smart thing. Only one man survives, who was forced to abandon his wife and a child or suffer the same fate. It starts off promisingly with a bunch of survivors having to run for their lives after their hideout is overrun.

I disagree with that last statement, the sequel is not very good and you can tell that someone other than Danny Boyle directed it.
